International Day Against Drug Abuse – Don Bosco Vaduthala

The International Day against Drug Abuse observed in Don Bosco Senior Secondary school, Vaduthala on 27th June 2022. In connection with World Drug Day, “Red Ribbon Week” was organized from 27th June 2022 to 1st July 2022 to help raise awareness among the students about the major problem that illicit drugs and various addictions pose to themselves and society. It was conducted in collaboration with the project DREAM, Kochi.
On 27th June 2022, during the school assembly, the students took an oath against
drugs.
Mr. Shibin Shaji, District project coordinator, DREAM Kochi & team conducted a training session on Addiction and Preventive methods for the students of classes five to eight from 01:00 p.m. to 03:00 p.m.
The students conducted the class assembly for the week under the guidance of class teachers by preparing speech/ PowerPoint presentations/ Video presentations to give awareness about the respective addiction among the students. Daily announcements through the radio in Red Ribbon week made the students more vigilant against various addictions. The charts with meaningful pictures and slogans based on the theme were displayed daily.

29/6/2022 – Wednesday- Food addiction (Binge eating)
30/6/2022 – Thursday – Gaming addiction
1/7/2022 – Friday – Drug addiction
The support and cooperation rendered by the class teachers and the students were remarkable for the meaningful and attractive observation of Red Ribbon Week.
