The Department of Mathematics organized a webinar on the topic, When Nature Speaks Through Numbers for classes VII – X. The resource person, Fr. Sumon Jose Uzhunnalil SDB (Administrator, Mount Don Bosco Padivayal) gave important insights into how nature is interrelated with numbers. He highlighted the beauty of nature using Fibonacci numbers and the golden ratio. During the session, Fr. Sumon discussed the mathematical concept of consecutive Fibonacci numbers, which leads to the golden ratio. He also explained how Fibonacci numbers have been in existence in the world we live in. Finally, he motivated students to study the relation between photography and the golden ratio.
